Chicken Teriyaki Don

- 2 Boneless skin on Chicken Thighs
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Ingredients for the Teriyaki Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Mirin
- 2 Tablespoons Sake or Chinese cooking wine
- ½ Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- ½ Tablespoon Honey (if you don't have honey at home, just substitute ½ Tablespoon Brown Sugar and ½ Tablespoon Honey to 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar)
- 1 Tablespoon Ginger, grated
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
Start by adding all ingredients for the marinate into a bowl. Mix them well. Reserve.
Add the oil to a medium-high heat pan. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken with the skin down. Hold the chicken down with a spoon for 20 seconds. Continue pan-frying the chicken for about 4 minutes.Turn the chicken and pan-fry it on the other side for about 3 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and reserve.
In the same pan, on medium-high heat, pour in the teriyaki sauce and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer for about 1 minute.
Add the chicken back to the pan and coat the chicken with the sauce. Let the chicken cook together with the sauce for about 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
Serve it on top of steamed rice. Enjoy this delicious meal.
