Easy Baked Kibbeh with Cheese

Equipment

  • 1 Baking tray 8in x 10in (20cm x 25 cm)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 Onion, diced
  • ½ cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 pound Cooked bulgur
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 100 g Cheese (mozzarella or gouda)

Instructions

  • Start by preheating the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Add all ingredients (except the cheese) to a bowl and mix it well.
  • Add half of the mixture in the baking tray, press it while you do it.
  • Add the cheese.
  • Finish by adding the other half. Drizzle some extra olive oil on top and cover with foil paper.
  • Bake it for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve it a side of yogurt mint sauce and fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, onions. Rice is also a great side dish.
