- 250 g Pasta of your preference (I used Fusilli)
- 4 Hot Dogs, sliced
- 1 Garlic clove, minced
- ½ can Unpeeled, whole tomatoes
- 100 ml Cooking cream (I used low fat, 7%)
- 1 Tablespoon Extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon Baking soda (to reduce the acidity. If you dont have it at home, replace it for ½ teaspoon sugar)
- 1½ cups Boiling Water
- Parmesan to garnish to taste
- 1 teaspoon Spicy sauce (optional)
Heat a deep pan over high heat. Add the olive oil and minced garlic, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the tomatoes, water, cooking cream, salt, black pepper, dried basil, baking soda (or sugar), and sliced hot dogs. Mix everything well and bring the mixture to a boil.
Add the dried pasta to the pan, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer for the time indicated on the pasta package.Tip: Check on the pasta every few minutes, stir gently to ensure it cooks evenly, and prevent it from sticking or burning at the bottom. Once the pasta has cooked according to the package instructions, remove the lid and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes without the lid to thicken the sauce.
Your Hot Dog Pasta is ready! Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan and chopped parsley. Serve immediately with a side of green salad for a complete and delicious meal.
