Ingredients

  • 6 hot dogs, chopped
  • 1 Tomato can
  • Water
  • 1 Small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda (to reduce the acidity of the tomato sauce)

Instructions

  • Chop the hot dogs, onions and garlic.
  • In a medium-high pot, add the olive oil and sauté onions for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and stir fry for another minute.
  • Add the tomato sauce and the water to the pot. Mix it well.
  • Add all seasonings at once. Add the baking soda and mix it well. Some bubbles will be formed, but don't worry, in a few minutes it will go away.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil, then add a lid to the pot, but don't close it completely. Reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Add the chopped hot dogs and cook for another 3 minutes.
  • Serve with a side of mashed potatoes, rice, pasta or with bread. Enjoy!
