Servings: 2 people
- 6 hot dogs, chopped
- 1 Tomato can
- ⅓ Water
- 1 Small onion, finely chopped
- 1 Garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Baking Soda (to reduce the acidity of the tomato sauce)
Chop the hot dogs, onions and garlic.
In a medium-high pot, add the olive oil and sauté onions for 3 minutes. Add the garlic and stir fry for another minute.
Add the tomato sauce and the water to the pot. Mix it well.
Add all seasonings at once. Add the baking soda and mix it well. Some bubbles will be formed, but don't worry, in a few minutes it will go away.
Bring the sauce to a boil, then add a lid to the pot, but don't close it completely. Reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the chopped hot dogs and cook for another 3 minutes.
Serve with a side of mashed potatoes, rice, pasta or with bread. Enjoy!
