Brazilian Vinaigrette is a light and refreshing Tomato and Onion Salad that showcases the natural sweetness of ripe tomatoes and the zesty bite of onions. This classic dish is made with fresh, juicy tomatoes and thinly sliced red or white onions, tossed in a simple dressing of olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice, and seasoned with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Often referred to as Brazilian Vinaigrette Salsa, it features vibrant flavors that complement a wide variety of meals. Whether served as a refreshing side dish for grilled meats or spooned over bread, this versatile salad adds a delicious burst of tangy freshness to your table.

Brazilian Vinaigrette Ingredients

  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup Apple Vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoon Extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ½ cup Parsley, chopped

How to Make Brazilian Vinaigrette

  1. This is a very easy recipe. Thinly chop the onion, tomatoes and parsley. Add all vegetables into a bowl, together with the seasonings. Mix it well. Adjust salt if necessary.
  2. Serve Brazilian Vinaigrette as a side dish to your grilled meat, on top of bread or any other dish of your preference.

Recipe Tips

  • Thin slices of onions blend well without overpowering the salad. Soaking the onion slices in hot water for a few minutes can reduce their sharpness.
  • Use a light vinegar, such as apple vinegar, or lemon to add tang and balance the sweetness of the tomatoes and onions.
  • Don’t save on the extra-virgin olive oil. It really brings the salad together and enhances the flavors of the tomatoes and onions.

Notes

Tip:
To make the onion not so strong, after chopping the onion, add it to a bowl, add water and cook it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Remove the water.
