Chicken Wrap

Versatile, Quick and Healthy!

Chicken wrap is a versatile and delicious meal that combines chicken with fresh vegetables and a rich spread, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. It’s a healthy and convenient option, which makes it perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner during the week. As a spread my favorite choices are guacamole or hummus, but feel free to use any of your preference.

Chicken Wrap Ingredients

  • 2 Tortillas
  • 120g Chicken breast or thighs, in cubes
  • Lettuce, chopped
  • 1 Tomato, chopped
  • β…“ Cucumber, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Spread of choice (hummus or guacamole for example)

How to Make the Best Chicken Wrap

  1. Start by seasoning the chicken with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken in a medium-high heat pan for about 5 minutes. Reserve.
  2. In the meantime, wash and cut the vegetables. Mix them in a bowl, season with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Place the tortilla into a big enough pan when it is warm. Can be the same one you used to cook the chicken. Warm the tortilla on both sides. Don’t let it overcook it, otherwise it will get too “crunchy”. Just enough so it is warm and change sides. Like 1 minute or less per side.
  4. In a place, start by placing the tortilla. Add the spread and some jalapenos, if you want something a bit spicy.
  5. Add the lettuce and vegetables and on top, the chicken. Make sure to leave enough space on the sides, to be able to close the warp.
  6. Close and assemble the warp by first joining 2 sides close to the middle.
  7. Then while holding these 2 sides, roll one side to the other.
  8. Enjoy a healthy and tasty wrap πŸ™‚

Recipe Tips

  1. This recipe is very versatile. Feel free to use any other vegetable of your preference like eggplant, zucchini, bell pepper, onions etc. Use it what you have it in your fridge πŸ™‚
  2. Be careful to not overcook the chicken, specially if you are using chicken breast. I think here is where many people do it wrong. Around 5-7 minutes should be enough.
  3. Do not skip the step of warm it up your tortilla in a pan. It makes an incredible difference on the taste and texture of your wrap!

Notes

I like to normally also add cooked bulgur with the salad to make the wrap even more filling. But this is optional.
